Re: Question about refinishing.
Ya, it's a bit of a bitter pill to swallow. Especially when I come on this forum, and read everyone touting how super wonderful the older generation Mariah boats are.
And in every other aspect, it has been a marvelous boat. Very high quality fit and finish, excellent combination of engine/drive/hull. It's going to last forever in the dry boathouse. But if I ever had to keep it in a wet slip, I would have to get rid of it. Or get some kind of JetDock type of system. Or the one with the airbags. If it stayed in the water, it would be a gonner, just like the problems RK is having. I would love to hear from any former employees about this topic. Just to hear the inside scoop. ALthough at the time, the guys at the factory were very open about the gelcoat problems. But that was after I brought it up. They certainly didn't issue a recall on it. I'm still bewildered as to why there isn't more talk about this. The problem was certainly not isolated to just me and RK:rolleyes: Maybe I should start a new thread called "Gelcoat blistering in 1994 models" or something like that. What do you all think? Z |

Here's a link to Meguiars produces at IBoats. The one i referred to is the 3rd one down the list. I suspect West Marine / Bass Pro or any other boating chandlery will carry the stuff.
