US Coast Guard ID Plate

I bought a 1995 Mrriah Shabeh 202 during the winter. I just noticed that the US Coast Guard Plate is not on the boat. Does anyone know how I would go about getting this. I know the boat has a 190 hp rating. Is this Plate something that needs to be mounted on the boat? It tells how many people and the weight the boat can carry. It looks like it was mounted by the shifting handle. This one may be a hard one to answer.. Thanks

If it's under 20 ft it needs one.

"Under the U.S. Coast Guard Federal Boat Safety Act of 1971, boats less than 20 feet powered with an inboard, outboard, or stern drive engine manufactured after November 1, 1972, must display a capacity plate defining the safe load limits. This plate must be mounted where you can see it when preparing to get underway. Sailboats, canoes, kayaks and inflatable boats are exempt from this standard."

Finding a replacement seems to be a bit of a chore though. I found threads on other boards (such as iboats) where people are talking about just making replacements. This page defines the specs.

Dredd, Thanks for the information. I know that will be hard to find a plate. Does anyone have a 1995 Mariah Sahbeh 202 that can give me the information off the US Coast Guard Plate?? This way I can have one made.

If you have a look in our photo "Gallery" and under the mfrg year 1995 you will find a number of members with the 202 model. Send them each a Private Message with your request and i'm sure one of them will get back to you with the information you need.
