im lookin to buy my first boat and ive come across a 1999 mariah shabah 182 that has 227 hours on it. they are asking 6k for it. should i pass or is this a good deal? thanks

Drive it an make sure there are no problems with anything, and if the interior is in good shape, I would say it is a good deal. I paid a little more for my 1996 180 Shabah, but it had 190 hours on it and several options.

If the interior and hull are in good condition and the boat passes your 'on the water' test, then $6k is a very good price.

6K is indeed a good price, and depending on options may be a great price. If you are unsure of the condition in any way you can always commission a marine survey. Good luck

I bought a 2000 182 Shabbah a few months back for $7,000 with 156 hours. I would say mine is in very good condition and has 156 hours. Needed a new top. Your deal looks to be about right if the engine, hull and interior are in good condition. Also, try to get them to throw in the goodies....anchor, lines, fenders, pfd's, skiis, etc. Adds up when you have to buy all of them.
