Parts and Hatch Lift reccomendation?
I have a 1994 Talari Z220. My passenger dash (glove box) latch has broken and I need to replace it or repair it. Any suggestions on where to find a replacement or alternative repair?
My engine hatch lifts are failing. They are manufactured by acculift and are old enough to be unrepairable due to no replacement parts existing. I can buy the latest acculift linear actuator but they are 350.00 each and I really dont want to spend 700.00. Does anyone have suggestions on alternative actuators? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. jason |
Re: Parts and Hatch Lift reccomendation?
I had a hatch lift fail on my 272 Shabah, it was an electric linear type. I looked at various replacement types and decided I could do better.
I made up a hydraulic system on mine. It's smother and much, much faster than the original. I also mounted it right next to my actual trim pump for the drive so in the unlikely event that I have a failure I could switch hoses and have a backup trim pump. I purchased a used trim pump and reservoir assembly off of ebay. I did some research and got the output and and flow specs of the pump and matched it with a hydraulic cylinder. I made up the hoses and added a manual bypass valve that's accessible outside of the engine compartment in the event the batteries are dead. It was a lot more work than just replacing the original electric like for like, but it was well worth it! |
Re: Parts and Hatch Lift reccomendation?
I had my acculifts rebuilt at the same time I had the starter rebuilt at the same place .I think it was 150.00 each. they are a little slow but they work.I also at the same time replaced the plywood of the hatch whitch was waterloged.I think it lost 50lbs or so.
