Stereo Amplifier Locations

I currently have two amplifiers for my stereo located under the sunpad in the engine bay (1994 Talari 220Z). As we all know heat is an electronic gadgets worse friend. It gets extemely hot with the engine and all. I have not had any problems after two seasons but was wanting to know if you guys have come up with any creative locations for your amplifiers. Any input...pics..would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Stereo Amplifier Locations

We installed our amp on the main bulkhead under the helm. I'm not sure what you have for compartments on the 220, but on the 252 there's forward "rooms" on the sides. The one right in front of the helm, there's the removable access panel to get to the fuses and wiring. Inside that i installed a mount for the amp. It has studs that stick out and the amp attaches to those with nuts. Makes it easy to remove for winter storage and keep the amp and stereo inside the house.

If i had picture's i'd post them. Sorry.

Two Alpine V12's mounted below the helm, perfect place in my opinion, dry (as you can get on a boat), close to power connections and headunit, good for short cable runs you need for audio. Check out my pic on Dashboard refurb thread in 'How to's'. Will post some more pics in the coming days for you.
