Fuel tank z210
 

I keep smelling gas fumes in the floor storage compartment when i lifted the hatch,so i raised the rear seats, removed the two engine side covers, removed two screws that holds the fuel tank cover that is over the gauge sending unit and hose connections, i found the fuel leak at the sending unit, leaky gasket. The biggest surprize that i found was that my 96 shabah z210 has a poly fuel, tank not alum . Also acording to the lable on the tank, the cap. Is 35 gallons not 40. Surprize, surprize:(:(

Check the filler neck on the tank. We couldn't find our leak for awhile and found there was a small crack where the filler neck joins the tank. We got an exact replacement from Kracor in Milwaukee-there the ones who built the originals. I ordered it through the Lewis Co. 954-523-4371 as they were able to sell it to me less than directly from the company and I had it in about 10 days. Hopefully your tank is okay and doesn't need to be replaced.

THANKS TOM, YOUR RIGHT ! I HOPE I`LL NEVER HAVE TO REPLACE THE FUEL TANK, LOOKS LIKE A MAJOR JOB. LIKE THE BOAT WAS BUILT AROUND IT, ANYWAY IT LOOKS LIKE IT `S THE GAUGE SENDING UNIT, THERES DRIED FUEL LAYING ON TOP AROUND THE SENDING UNIT.I HAD TO CLEAN IT OFF OF THE LABLE TO SEE THE TANK CAPACITY, THANKS FOR THE TANK MANUFACTURES NAME AND NUMBER. I`LL SAVE IT JUST IN CASE. :wink_thumbup: JACKIE
