hour meeter not working

I have an hour meeter that is not working. Is it usually as easy as installing a new one or do you need to check somewhere else.
It appears to be frozen?

Hi Jbetschart,

The Hour Meter is very simple, there are only two wires (ground and positive) and it runs when ever it has power. Replacing the meter is a relatively easy affair if you can get behind the dash, it should be held in place by a "U' shaped bracket and a couple of nuts. If you can, see if the ground and power to the Meter are good before trying to replace it.
