My name is Jere McManus and I live in Tyler Texas. I just purchased a 1995 Talari Z220 with a 5.7EFI MerCruiser. What a sweet boat. She replaces a 1994 V188 Celebrity. I studied for months trying to decide what boat I wanted and Mariah was the only one on the final list. I found this one in Oklahoma and drove up in all the rain, last Sunday, to pick her up and bring her home. I spent yesterday going over the boat I replaced the trailer jack, added a spare tire, replaced one trailer light, replaced the fin on the outdrive, and went over the boat tightening screws and cleaning the inside. There are several things I need help with. I downloaded some of the files online. Did these come with an Owners manual and if so are they available or can I get a copy online? Is there a fuse box? The power seat and the bilge blower are not working, but I could not find a fuse box to check. Also, 1 of the hatch jacks is not working. Are these still available? The switch for the Captains Call exhaust is not working. It is on Captains Call, but I would like to be able to have the choice. I do have an unusual problem. There is a cone shaped prop lock on the prop. It has a threaded plug in the center and when removed there is a lock which requires a special socket to remove. This must have been done by the original owner and is not with the boat. I looked online, but could not find a similar lock. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I want to replace the 3 blade SS prop with a High 5. I know on the Celebrity the 5 blade moved the heavy boat with ease. Are any decals available? I would like the Mariah letters for the side of the boat. Is there a decal for the stern "MARIAH" which is molded into the rear. I love the Club Site, which was a great help in my decision to purchase a Mariah and I know I will enjoy being a member. Any help will be great appreciated.

Thanks Jere

    Hey Jere!
Congradulations on your new Mariah purchase! We bought ours back in August and had a similar experience in our boat search - the Mariah was the only one on our final list. We were fortunate to have found ours in the same state that we live in. You will also find that many Mariah owners search far and wide, and are willing to drive very long distances to find what the're looking for; becuase the Mariah boats are the best!!!

Anyhow, welcome to the Mariah Owners Club!

Since you are already a Silver Contributor, did you check our directory of manuals? The owners manuals were not specific to each boat, only by year ranges it seems.

Thanks for the help. I did download some things, but I was hoping for something more specific on instrumentation, switches, etc.

    Thanks

Unfortunately this just doesn't exist! Mariah's documentation for the boats were a little weak, there was never a real "manual" made for our boats. Just the one which covers basic systems and boating safety.

One word to the wise though, DO NOT run your boat without a properly functioning bilge blower. it removes combustible gas vapors from the engine compartment, if it doesn't work properly, you may be sitting on a bomb... If it's gone bad, replace it immediately. It's a $25 part and about a 30 minute replacement. Please, for the sake of your own safety, if it doesn't work, don't run or even start the engine until you get the blower fixed.

there is a fuse block located underneath the dash. not sure exactly where it is on your specific model, but they usually put them under the dash for easy accessibility. check all the fuses first.

Thanks for everyone's advise and help. I definately will not run without the blower. I now have the winter to get familiar with the boat and fix a few minor issues.

I finally had time to spend looking over the boat. It turned out the blower motor wires were disconnected in the engine compartment. I hooked them back up and the blower works fine. I found the same problem with the power seat. A wire was disconnected under the dash. I was able to drill the lock on the prop and use an easy-out to remove it. I replaced the SS 19P 3 blade prop with a SS 17P High Five that I had. Saturday was a beautiful day and we were able to take her out and really get familiar. The 5 blade prop made an amazing difference. She pops right out and planes quickly. I may have to find a 19P, but for now the 17P will be fine. We mostly Ski, Tube, and Wake Board, so the top end is not that big a deal. This is definately a beautifully designed boat and the quality is outstanding. I need to repair one of the electric jacks, replace a leaking master cylinder on the trailer, and add a Bimini top. I know we will enjoy her for years and years. Thanks, again for all the help and advice.
