Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve

I notice a little bit of oil that leaks out of the plastic tubing that runs from the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve to the clip on the fire arrestor above the carburator. It's not a lot of oil but it doesn't appear to be normal. The oil comes out by the arrestor and runs down the tube and collects around the valve cover where the PCV is located. Should the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve be replaced?

Re: Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve

I'm not sure about your engine, but on mine the PCV valve is just an empty fitting. Yep, no valve or anything inside it. My 454 gets a little oily around the fittings and hoses after a few trips to the lake, but I just wipe it off and keep going.
