oil overfilled

I usaully check the oil levels ever so often and usualy don't see much of any change in the levels over the summer. I checked it today and no engine oil showed up on the dip stick. got some mobil 1 5w30 poured the fist quart in and just a tad on the dip stick. put the second quart in and read one quart low. poured a third in the started it up. checked it after the short idle and it reads 2 quarts over. how did this happen?

Since I've owned the boat I've had all maint done by a dealer. So how do I drain the oil out?

Get one of these: Moeller Fluid Extractor Kit, stick the appropriate tube down the dipstick tube, and suck it out. (Works best if the oil is a bit warm, but will do it either way.)

As to how it got over-filled: When you pour oil in, you've got to give it a minute or two to settle-down into the oil pan. Whenever you run the engine, you have to let it rest 5-10 minutes for all the oil to settle back down into the oil pan.

u have a plug in the bottom of your oil pan. just like in your car. the hard part is getting the pan out.

they also sell replacement drain plugs that have a hose in them that pulls out so that u can drain out your plug in the back of the boat.
