U joint?
 

Hoping to confirm a problem I am having with a '99 Z212 with 350MPI and Alpha 1 drive. When making turns, especially at lower speeds, I am getting some pretty serious vibrations and rumbling noise. The noise and vibration go away at higher speed or even at lower speed as long as I am not turning.

I was told this might be a u-joint. Just wondering if that sounds right, and if it is, what they typically cost to replace.

What you describe sounds more like a bad gimbal bearing.

I with Z202, my guess is gimbal bearing. Mine cost me about $300 to replace, but unsure of US $ prices.

I would say the gimbal bearing as well. If it was a u joint at higher speeds it should vibration like a mofo, and at lower speeds make a clunking noise.
