Default Transom shower on my Z255

Hey all, when I got my Z255 the transom shower did not work. I replaced the shurflo water pump, and now it works. my question is.. I assumed it drew water from the fresh water tank, however it pulls water through a seacock in the bottom of the bilge area. fine if your on a lake and want to wash fish guts off the transom. but thats about it, as I thought it would be for washing salt water out of ones hair, not the case if it's pulling in sea water. does anyone use their shower?? and if so what for.. Also is it safe to leave the seacock valve open all the time? it's a PIA to reach so I left it open.

Our 252 Shabah didn't come with a shower, but we added one later. We only boat on fresh water lakes so washing saltwater off isn't an issue. We usually use the shower for washing sand and dirt off the transom and for warming up wetsuits.

You could close the seacock and relocate the shower line to the freshwater tank. You would most likely have to tap in a new fitting as an unused existing one is not likely to be available.

Leaving the seacock open should not be an issue. If you leave the boat for an extended period of time in the water then you might want to close it.
