2001 Z 252 outdrive/lower unit oil
 

Hey guys,
Bout this boat couple years ago and really havent put more than 30 hours on it but I have not serviced the outdrive/lower unit. Its been repainted so i am not 100% sure which unit it is other than a merc product. But how do i change the oil in the lower unit? Ive started to notice a slight noise from it when out of the water and flushing the system around 1k rpms. Motor runs great other than some low oil pressue not sure if thats the guage and the motor itself about 18psi cruising 3k rpm's.

18 psi is much too low for 3K rpms. Should be approx 40psi.

Maybe you should ask a competent mechanic to look at it before it becomes a very expensive noise?
