Bimini Top Question

II have searched the forum and read everything I can find but still have a question. I will be purchasing a Bimini top from my 90 2000xl and have three choices.

1. Anodized aluminum tubing with nylon hardware.
2. Anodized aluminum tubing with stainless steel hardware.
3. Stainless steel tubing with stainless steel hardware.

I am thinking of going with option #2. What has everyone else gone with? Is the stainless steel tubing worth the extra $300.00?

Thanks
RVS

Re: Bimini Top Question

The bimini that came with my boat is aluminum with nylon fittings and I'm not a fan. It works, but is pretty wobbly and I just don't trust it at speed or with a stiff wind. If/when I replace it, it will probably be with all stainless for what it's worth.

I have the aluminum with nylon hardware and have used it a lot in 2 seasons and havent had a bit of trouble with it.

I've got the aluminum w/stainless hardware and nylon straps to secure the front. It's in it's third season and still looks really good.We use it every trip out and even at faster speeds and it does well.

I've got the same setup as Rusty. Works great at all speeds. If you want to play it safe, all stainless is the way to go. But I think if you use the bimini sporadically then option 2 is a good bet.
