My front NAV light is not working. Where would I look at for the fuse. The bulb looks fine?

On my 2001 252 Shabah there is an access panel inside the bulkhead just in front of the helm console. The panel is located on the wall facing the helm. Pop off the panel and look up and there are 2 bays of fuses. The fuses are not labeled so you'll have to either pull each one out and check for burn marks on the plastic or take a multimeter and check for continuity of each fuse by touching the two top contacts of the fuse. If you do the multimeter method you wont have to actually pull each fuse.

Let us know if replacing the fuse solves the problem.

I had the same problem with my boat. I had to replace the switch anyways (broken housing) but it turned out to be the two bullet connectors that connect the bow socket to the main harness.

Bulb looked new, had continuity, socket had continuity as well, followed wiring around the bow portion of my boat to see if a loose connection hidden somewhere. Man did my hand get scratched from the fibreglass. Went back to the bow socket, removed both connectors and "scratched them up with a screw driver" to remove some very light corrosion, test fit and played around till it illluminated and eventually it was working each time. I did however inspect the fuses and all seemed fine.

I should probably reopen up the light and apply some dielectric grease onto the connectors to protect them.

My nav lights were intermittent as well. In my case it turned out to be a poor connection at the fuse block. After I found the problem, I spent some time pulling every spade terminal and fuse and cleaning them up. I then reconnected them using a dab of dielectric grease.

I'm surprised dielectric grease isn't used on the assembly of the electrical system in the first place.

Thank you for the ideas on the NAV bow light. We are going to check this out this weekend. I will let you know results.
