I just purchased a 202 Mariah 202. NADA has no record of this boat however, the hull number begins with MAB which means it is an original Mariah boat. I have no idea what model this boat is. It has the design of the newer SX 20's however, has the shield on the back of the seats and the 5.7L engine. Does anyone have a clue as to the model of this boat? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Check This Post about Hull ID Numbers to decode your hull number. If it's truly a 2002, it could be one of the few unfinished boats that the factory auctioned off, and could have been finished by Sea Fox using original Mariah parts.

Let us know what you find out!

Also, if you can, include a pic or two, maybe we can help you identify it.

Thank you for the info. In the Gallery section there is a boat that is IDENTICAL to mine. It is titled Diablo 200 listed in the 2001 section. If you don't mind take a look at the boat. I've read in other posts on the site that some doubt that is a Diablo. Please let me know what you think. Thanks again. Kitto

As Chris says, check the last two digits of your serial # and that will tell you if it is a 2002. As for it being a Diablo, yes its possible. There was some confusion here as to whether or not the Diablo name continued into the late 1990's & early 2001-02 yrs but then we obtained the brochures that confirmed what was available in each model year. There was a Diablo model in 2001 according to our promotional brochure but unfortunately we dont have a 2002 brochure to confirm it. There are only a few 2002 boats out there compared to the earlier years. Uploading a few pics of your boat would definitely add to our collection!

I checked the hull number and it appears that it was (if I'm reading this right) 01 certified and the model year is 02. However it doesn't help me in decifering what paticualr model the boat is. I don't have the boat in my possession yet, but as soon as I do I will post pics. Did you get a chance to look at the Diablo 200 posted in the Gallery section? That boat is identical to mine right down to the color of the graphics. Mine is not as clean as that boat, but give me time. Thanks for your help, it is greatly appreciated as I'm a Mariah newbie, but glad to be a part of the fraternity.

Yes i did look at the gallery pics and if yours is 'identical' then it's 'likely' a Diablo. There's nothing in the ser# that identifies what model the boat is. Again, 2002 was a messed up year for Mariah production as the company wound down and there just isnt any production records for us to work from.

In my Hull # there is a "D" so I'm not sure if the identifies it as a Diablo or just pure coincidence. On another note, how does a guy get graphics for the older Mariah boats. I would like to keep the graphics original and the existing graphics are a bit dinged up. Particularly I would like to replace the gold Mariah on the side. Would you have any reccomendations?? I believe the "D" just means your boat was built in April. As for graphics / emblems for the original boats they are as scarce as hens teeth. The gold emblems come up on e-bay once in a while and usually run about $100/pr. You can order the new Mariah emblems from SeaFox which have a silver edge to them (rather than gold) at a far lower price. If you have a look under the Mariah 'Parts & Collectibles' thread you will find lots of posts about graphics & emblems.
That said, our admin guy (ShabahZ250) may be able to help you out with the vinyl stuff so it might be worth sending him an email.
