I agree! A great weekend!:wink_thumbup: Temps were in the low 80's which is rare for the end of summer.

On Sat, my wife and I launched the boat on Lake Simcoe in Barrie, and went up to Orillia and back. It was a very relaxing trip. We dropped anchor part way there, and had a nice... but short swim. The water was just 67 F so we were not in too long. :yes_grin:The water was real calm in places, and there were very few boats out there compared with other past weekends.

Sadly, that was probably our last time out this year too. :(

Excellent and Superb. Beautiful weekend. Had the boat in Georgian Bay first thing Sat., and went for one of several nice runs that day. Had offshore breezes just enough to make a decent chop for going fast! Tested the water, but it was no Lake Simcoe (or Sparrow), so I passed on an end of season plunge. :eek_animated:

It had been a bad week for boats up there though. A sailboat broke free the previous weekend when what was left of Ike passed through. Luckily it came safely to rest on the sand beach. The beach at our cottage (behind in the distance) is what we like to call "extremely" coarse sand. ;)

The wind began blowing hard out of the Northeast on Sunday morning, and the 5' rollers crashing on the shore put stop to our boating. So we hiked along the Lions Head cliff and spotted this 3 seater Sea Doo on this remote "coarse sand" beach. :shakehead:

I REALLY love how that lil boat handles with just me in there. It rests better on the surface and seems like it corners harder with the reduced weight of another person in the boat.

:D

oh oh.....are you suggesting your boat has a handling problem with your hunny along for the ride? :eek_animated: :eek_animated: :rolling_laugh:

It is amazing how well the boat drives with just one, isn't it? That's my favorite time, I like to call it "Mariah Bonding Time". I experienced this a few times this year, but not enough! Still got a few weeks left in my season, hopefully be able to get out there again.

These are also the very first "driving" photos taken from shore of myself on my boat. Normally the camera is on board with me for the trip.

Congrats on the anniversary 180diablo!! And the boat looks good with those shields on there!

Z202, I was looking through your pics again, and that's crazy... Was there a lot of other damage around the marinas? Curious if anyone else can spot the EverStart battery? :eek_animated:

As far as I know, the sailboat was the only casualty when Ike passed through.

I missed the battery at the Sea-Doo wreck, but I can see it now. I'm a bit surprised you can make it out, as the cliff from where I took the picture is actually about 250' above the water. I called the police to report it, and they came and took a statement from me. I actually saw the boat go out on Saturday night. It was belching smoke and missing really bad. With the weather deteriorating, I was really wondering why the guy was going out. I think there may be more to the story, as they didn't have any reports of missing boaters...

Heh .. thanks man! Yeah it looks a lot more complete now.

I took another look @ the pic and I just noticed it as well. It should be that black thing in the upper right corner in the water.

Hmmm. Insurance settlement? Might have seemed like a better option than replacing the blown motor out-of-pocket. :shakehead: :punch_out:
