Tach Question

All -

I am having issues with my tach and I had a few quick questions...

(I have tried the "switch" trick moving the engine size selector to fix the connection problem with no luck.)

1. What RPM's does the gauge sit at when the engine is off? (Mine sits at 1k RPM)
2. Is there a way to test the signal from the engine to ensure that the wiring is ok?
3. Any other things to try before removing/repairing/replacing?

Thanks in advance!

I have the older Faria gauges (white on black) but my tach needle sits below zero with the key off, and reads zero with the key on.

Not sure what else you can check, but Faria offerd a limited lifetime replacement on all their gauges for a nominal fee ($30 for a tach). You just have to remove and send them the old one.

You can get contact info here: http://www.faria-instruments.com/
