Default Well, Welcome and help needed!

Good thing I found this website, I was starting to get worried about finding parts for our older mariah's but you all seem to have the low down! Well just picked up my first boat, It's a 98 shabah 210 with the fuel injected 7.4 with the Bravo 1 outdrive. Fun boat ! The original ladder is all busted up, and i've been searching hi and low for a good replacement. I would go for one of the over the swim deck types but I'm kinda scared it wont hold due to not being able to put a backing plate on the other side? Have others had this problem and found something that works out well? My buddy's and myself are all good sized aka 250-300lbs so I kinda need something thats gonna hold up to draging us out of the water after getting killed tubbing! Thanks alot guys ! Sure you'll be seeing alot more post by me as the questions roll through my mind.

Here's a pic of it sittin pretty

    Hi Mike S,

Welcome to the club! Great looking Shabah, geez a 7.4L in a 21 footer, must run like a scalded cat!

You may want to try going online and looking on West Marine, Boaters World, Overtons or any Marine hardware dealer for a similar ladder. Since these were made inhouse, I doubt you'll find a direct replacement, but as in my case, I found one that took a little modifying but now works and almost looks original. BTW, I a big guy too and it handles me just fine!

    Good luck,
    WetWilly

Wow, 21 foot with a 7.4 I have a 20 footer with a 4.3 and I can crack 55. That thing must really scoot. Don't have a good answer for the ladder issue. Sorry. Would love to see thing on the water.

I've been debating whether to post this or not... here goes.

I added a swim platform to my '99 212 Shabah that has it's own ladder, making the old one obsolete. I don't know if it's the same as what you need, but I may be able to take it off and sell it to you (or anyone else in need). Problem is, it's a huge pain in the a_s to get to it, and I'm not terribly comfortable filling the holes left in the hull. Even if I decide to do this, it may not be until I perform the winter storage clean-up this fall.

Is yours the telescopic type that slides underneath the swim platform?

Yea I think our's is the same setup, No problem though. My poor mariah is at the marina now getting new exhaust manifolds and risers. There gonna slap a stainless OEM type on to replace my beatup one. 16 hours of labor just to remove the old manifolds along with installing the new ones. One bit of advice take care of them before they get real bad like the owner I bought mine off of did. Snaped studs, plugs breaking...

Good pics. Thanks for posting them up. Looks like it wants to take flight in that first one.

If you want to stick with the Mariah line, go for a Z272. Biggest bowrider they ever made, and has a reputation as one of the strongest and best built boats, even former employees i've spoken to have claimed this boat was built like a tank. Seeing those "launch" pics, you probably want to consider something that's built strong and tough. Definitely wouldn't be looking at something like a Bayliner, Stingray, Tahoe, or any other entry line boat.
