That is some awesome work you and the wifey have done there!

Hmm, the mooring cover. Do you recall how many hours it took to construct it? How you took your measurements etc? Does it have an elastic "waist-band" that wraps below the rub rail.?

Doing it yourself is so much more rewarding then buying it from somewhere else. I wonder if my gf knows how to sew....

We used the old mooring cover as a template, but made the new one a bit larger so it extends below the rub rail. Its also longer than the original cover, as this one extends all the way over the swim platform. There is no elastic in it, but there is a pull cord which goes all the way around, and ties off at the back to keep it tight. If I had to guess, I would say there are about 25 hours into making it. Well worth the effort, as its better than the original one in my opinion.

oooh ok, the pull cord is what I was seeing then. I like that idea (to pull it tight).

Downside is, I dont have an original mooring cover in order to use as a template. I have emailed Cummins Canvas in Cumberland Beach (north of Orillia) about a price for a cover.

    Lets see what they say.

Updating my old post above ........

    Hi,

We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm and from
    9:00am to 1:00pm on Saturday.

A mooring cover for an 18' boat with a 7 1/2 foot beam done in sunbrella a breathable acrylic fabric would be approximately $900 plus tax. The boat would have to be brought to our shop for the custom fit.
    For more info. call 705-689-6991

    Cummins Canvas Co.

Anyone have a template for a 18ft Diablo ROFL!
