Has anyone ever thought about the enclosed chariot trailers. Are they completely enclosed ?
I am sure that some water gets in the framework, around electrical wires, has anyone ever thought about putting in a drain hole? Would a drain hole be bad for the trailer ? Mine is in great condition and want to keep it that way.

I don't have one, but seems like enclosed parts are good, assuming they are truly enclosed. If your trailer is in good shape, I'd just continue taking good care of it. Anytime you add a new hole, there is the opportunity to get water in and then rust. Of course, if you find a spot in your trailer that is holding water, a drain hole is probably better than holding water inside.

Maybe someone with more steel trailer experience will chime in too.

Yes I was thinking along the lines of drilling a hole under the last cross member at its lowest point and then using a plug.
Plug similar to boat plugs, the runner ones with the flip over handle that expands it. At a smaller size of course.
Then when I trailer the boat and pull the plug, I pull the plug on the trailer also.

Seems like it would work fine if you are concerned about water being trapped inside.
