Newbie looking for Talari id help
Hi all,
I am a new member here and am buying a 1995 Mariah, advertised as a "Talari 212". However, NADA does not list a Talari 212, just 2 versions of a Talari 210, then jumping up to a 220. There is a 212 Shabah, but that does not look to be the same boat. Does anyone know what this likely is? It specs out (according to the owner) as 21.2ft long, 8ft beam, and is a bowrider with a 5.7L Mercruiser Alpha One motor. Thanks for any input! Brian Flanagan |
Do you have any photos? It is pretty easy to tell between a Talari and a Shabah. If not I am sure some Talari owners will chime in.

Judging from appearance, I am fairly certain it is a Talari bowrider model. I am just curious what model number it is. I was hoping that based on specs someone could tell me is it was actually a Talari 210 or some other model, or if there actually was a Talari 212 and NADA's listings were in error.
Thanks, Brian |
Hi Brian,
Let's see if we can shed some light on your situation... first off, there is only the 210 and 220 Talari's and the 202 and 212 Shabah's in this size range for 95 bowriders. Sorry that the pictures are so small but if you look closely, the main difference between the side profiles of both models is, the Shabah's Windshield wraps back along the sides and blends into the upper hull where the Talari's windshield is entirely on top the the upper hull. There is also a difference in the rear swim platforms as well. The Talari's platform is open and flat the entire width of the back where the Shabah has an extended center section where the tow hook is mounted either extending out a little or going all the way to the rear and breaking up the platform into two smaller cutouts and just the opposite on the bottom of the platform. Here is a picture of the 202 Shabah: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...5202Shabah.jpg Here is a picture of the 212 Shabah: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...12Shabah-1.jpg Here's one of the 210 Talari: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...5210Talari.jpg Here's one of the 220 Talari: http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...5220Talari.jpg The 95 specs state the following: The 210 Talari is 20' 3" at 7" 6" wide The 212 Shabah is 21' 2" at 7" 7" wide The 220 Talari is 21' 10" at 8" 6" wide As bpfirrman said, a couple of pictures would really help. Good luck, WetWilly |

OK, here's some pics. I am fairly certain it's properly described as a Talari, I'm just not sure which model. I am betting it's the 210. What do you guys think?

Hi Brian,
Yup, It's a Talari for sure and judging from the front bow rails, she's a 210 at that. The 220 Talari's front bow rails extend all the way back to the rear of the side glass. The discrepancy in the length measurement is probably due to the current owner adding in the swim platform or to the end of the out drive. Either way, she's a good looking boat from the pictures! :wink_thumbup: I would advise having her checked out by a qualified Mercruiser Service person to insure the motor, steering, trim and outdrive are in good condition and it doesn't hurt to have the rest of the boat checked as well. Thanks for the help! I am looking forward to picking her up tomorrow or Thursday and getting her wet. Can anyone tell me the approximate top speed of a 210 Talari with the 5.7L Mercruiser? I realize it is prop-dependent, not sure the pitch, but just looking for a ballpark.

What are they asking for that boat? It looks to be in good shape. Watch the oil pressure and the RPM's when you are at full throttle. I have a 23.5 and mine goes about 36MPH at full throttle. That is the speed using the GPS. I think the 250HP is a little weak for my size and weight but it goes fast enough for us.

It depends on which 5.7L is in it (carb, EFI, or Magnum) but my guess would be low 50's. Let us know how the test run and condition check goes!
