Another Engine Hatch Question
I'm new to the group and the proud owner of a "97 Shabah Z222. Its in fairly good shape and just needs some TLC. One item on the list is the engine hatch. All the equipment has been removed and i'm researching what I'm going to do to to get that working again. The hatch is heavy and I'm wondering if someone has some pictures of the original setup. Was there one actuator or two. Since all the brackets were removed, I'm starting from scratch. I've seen where someone has gone to hydraulic and that isn't a bad idea. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Another Engine Hatch Question
Hi Don,
My boat is close to yours. They had two, one on each side. Finding nos replacments, or a used one is very hard. When one of mine became slower then the other, I just replaced them with a new set of electric actuators. They were better (for the last 2 years anyway) and faster. I think under 100 bucks for the set. If you still have the factory wiring, that would be a plus. Mine just attached into the orginal mounts. My boats in storage for the season, but if I can think of anything else, I'll let you know. Marcus |
