Hi, I new here, glad I found this site.. We bought this bought used last year, and have had a few problems and have no knowledge on this boat or paperwork...

We cant figure out why the alarm keeps beeping, temp and oil levels are good according to the gauges..

We had the boat out last saturday, the lake was a little choppy, for the first 30 min or so no alarm but every so often the alarm would beep then stop then a few min later it would go off again. it seems like it only does this when the water is choppy, if the lake is smooth it never goes off..

does anyone know what this could be??

Thanks for any help..

I couldn't tell from your profile if you have an Alpha or Bravo outdrive. If Bravo have you checked the outdrive oil reservoir level? That can set off the alarm as well. Only other thing that comes to mind is the possibility that you have a wire from either the coolant temp switch, oil pressure switch or if you have a Bravo the outdrive oil level switch shorting to ground. Note that the outdrive oil switch wires are close to the exhaust manifold. That may make sense as to why you only experience the issue in choppy water. Follow these wires from their respective sensors and you should find your problem. Happy hunting.

Thanks Steve, will look for those wires..

I honestly have no clue what outdrive is on the boat, the only thing I have is a buyers order and it says that its a merc-3B
