Cabin lights refurbishment.

4 Attachment(s)
My gorgeous Z225 Davanti had problems with the Reading lights in the Cuddy.
Truth be told, only one out of the 4 twin light clusters worked.
I removed one of them for inspection.
The bezel plate over the two central switches pops off with gentle pressure from a small screwdriver.
Then the four screws are removed and the whole assembly can be lifted out.
Connections to the main wiring loom is by Bullet connectors, so these were disconnected and later replaced because of corrosion.
Using a volt meter, the switches proved to be faulty.
To be honest, I had little confidence in finding any replacements, but decided to try and identify them.
The micro switches slide out of the panel assembly and amazingly, had the manufactures name and part number on them!
A quick search on Google identified a USA supplier, Digikey, as a stock holder who were happy to ship to Northern Ireland :).
Part number: 528PB-ND
Description: Switch Pushbutton SPST 5A 14V. Push to Make, Push to Break.
Three days later, 6 switches arrived, I like to keep spares:D
Switches fitted, a bit of soldering and heat shrink and LED replacements and I have a Cuddy that I can read in:)

Hope this helps someone out there

:)

Re: Cabin lights refurbishment.

This is awesome! May i ask you, where is the power source for the lights? I do t seem to have any power to them. I’ve heard that the boat needs to be on shore power and also battery switch turned on. That didn’t work for me. I can’t find any of my switches providing power to them. And I’ve tried with the key on also. I’m lost.

Sorry for the distraction from the main topic. Finding any info in these has been near impossible. Checked the wiring diagrams provided on this site. Keep reaching a dead end.

Thanks.
