I received the attachment today, genuine MerCruiser part assembled in the USA. I am a bit disappointed.

First, there is no diagram to go with the legend letters in the instructions. Strike one.

Next, I could not push the rod end into the spring clip at the farthest hole. I could not even make it fit without any spring pressure on it at all. So the hole had to be enlarged. Strike two.

Even after enlarging the hole, it was still way too difficult to push in the rod in regular use so I ground a soft point on the end of the rod. Strike three.

Now it works, but this may be about the last time I deliberately order a Made-in-America part for more money.

I really think I would have done better to create a strap to hold on the $5 Walmart Made-in-China one.
