Mariah Trailers
Would any body know who made the trailers for the original Mariah boats. I have a 2000 Shaba 182 and know this trailer will fit a couple different sizes but I can not find the VIN# only the Serial number stamped on a plate in the rear of the trailer. Is the serial number the VIN# and if not would like to contact the trailer manufacture and maybe they have the VIN# available.
Would sure appreciate any help anyone can supply. Barry B . |
Re: Mariah Trailers
My 1997 is a Chariot, which is out of business. I would say the VIN and Serial # are the same thing. Just a guess

Re: Mariah Trailers
Thanks for the info Brian, I also think the serial number is the VIN. Thanks again

Re: Mariah Trailers
My 2001 Diablo came with a Prestige. Probably the same basic hull as your 2000 Shabah.

Re: Mariah Trailers
Our '99 182 Shabah came with a Prestige

Re: Mariah Trailers
My trailer is also a Prestige, maybe you guys can tell me where to look for the VIN#. Like I have said I found serial number but thought the VIN would be much longer than one letter and 6 digits. Hopefully you guys will set me straight where to look. Thanks again

Your not alone. Lol. I own a 96 chariot with a 99 shabah 202. My trailer Vin shows it should be a tan trailer, so apparently it's been repainted and now blue and relabeled with prestige decals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Mariah Trailers
My 2000 Shabah 250 is on a prestige trailer. There should be a sticker on the inside left brace on the tongue of the trailer. I could not read anything on the sticker until i held a UV light up to it at an angle the the VIN appeared like magic. You can get a cheap UV flashlight at Lowes. I could not find anywhere else that the VIN was on the trailer. Only other numbers were the serial # on the axles. Hope that Helps

Re: Mariah Trailers
I never kept my Prestige trailer btw and dealer took it back and gave me a credit. He planned to use it on other boats he had coming or a marina that had a couple rentals that were like mine but no trailer.
I personally felt it was unsafe for our tow vehicle at the time because the tongue weight was really high and quite short and had no brakes. I used it for a while and other than it having big 15" wheels and matching the boat colors I wasn't impressed. Construction seemed fine if you had a big heavy truck to tow it but I figured steel trailer would just start rusting also. I replaced it with a Loadmaster aluminum saltwater trailer with torsion axle, surge brakes and a long tongue to which I added a hinge and the difference in towing was night and day. Just in case any of you are ever contemplating a new trailer you might look into it. We always tow to the lake and it is highway or expressway speeds any which way we go. |
Re: Mariah Trailers
As far as I know Prestige is out of business. My 2000 Shabah has a Prestige. It has basically been remolded. Look under your Prestige to see if the access holes are square or circular. Square hole tend to get cracks in the corners and might be in need of attention.
