Default Battery cut off switch

How long do you think a battery should last before needing a charge when stored with the battery switch off?

That is hard to tell since each battery has a different internal discharge resistance. That's why most folks use a battery maintainer/charger to keep it topped off all the time. But I would get one that has at least 3 amps maximum output. I would suspect a typical used battery to become dead within 3-5 months when disconnected. Once that happens, internal damage has already begun.
