1996 mariah shabah
 

Hello im a new member and had a few questions you all may can answer for me. I just recently purchased a 1996 Mariah 20ft Z Shabah with a 5.7 liter engine with a mercuiser alpha one gen 2. I am going to be replacing the engine oil, out drive oil and trim oil and was wondering if there is any specific kind or weights I need to use on this boat as there was no manuals for it what so ever. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

jksb you need to purchase a manual for your 5.7 and alpha 1. This would not have been included with the boat originally. All of the documents that came with the boat are available to paying members, but they won't show you how to change the oil! Boat O&M manuals are very generic and don't go into that type of detail. Yes you better use the correct weight and type of oils and greases or you will have a very expensive repair in the future. Buy a Seloc manual for your engine/outdrive. Follow the maintenance schedules that are listed. YouTube is also a great way to watch someone else do it. Just make sure you read the manual as well, lots of dumb people on YouTube as well. Thank you for your reply and I will check into getting manuals for both my outdrive and for the engine. I have done some research and believe I have figured it out thank you again.
