Why is there a drain hole here?

Hi guys,
Re; Z202 Shabah. I have a question: What is the function of the small drain hole in the v-shaped compartment below the bow cushion? As far as I can tell, it just drains into the floor in the adjacent compartments. I poured a small amount of water into the drain and it just got the "carpet" wet inside the other compartments. Seems like it should be plugged if that's where it's supposed to go. Thanks Gary |
Re: Why is there a drain hole here?
I've wondered the same. From some reading I want to say it really does just drain onto the carpet. Not the best design... I wonder if some sort of drain hose could be run from it to an appropriate drain hole.

The drain does not go anywhere. It can lead to floor rot problems. I would suggest not using that area for any wet storage. See previous posts about this issue here: http://www.mariahownersclub.com/foru...95-shabah.html

Re: Why is there a drain hole here?
I think I will just plug it. The water I poured in did eventually end up in the bilge at the back of the boat, but through the inner liner all the way. I see no reason to continue to let that happen
