Keel Guard yay or nay

Forum's thoughts on Keel Guard? Had one for years, just never put it on.

If you beach your boat often, it may prove to be beneficial. If you don't ever drive her into the shore and spend most of your time anchored or tied to a dock, you can likely go without!

Beached my boat for 22 years on the river. The scratches aren't that noticeable. I think a keel guard would look worse. I may think differently if I was landing on rocky beaches.

Thanks Paul, I'm not sure I'm super excited about it. Like I said, I've got one, we've just never put it on. We've got some rocks but mostly stick to the sandy areas to pull up on the beach.

My marina guy told me that the glue used to attach the keel guard doesn't hold well in salt water, especially here in Florida.

The boat I purchased has one. It isn't pretty. Dealer I purchased from said taking it off now would look worse. My advice if you don't need it don't put it on.
