Radio Bezel
 

My radio was wired directly to the ignition switch so it would turn off everytime I shut the engine off. Very annoying when playing from Bluetooth. Anyway, as I was rewiring the radio power I noticed the original bezel was in pretty bad shape. Looked like someone taped over the original radio opening and of course the little side tore when I was removing the bezel.

The radio was propped from behind with a metal strap wrapped around some wires. Not good so decided to beef it up a little. I made a draft of the bezel out of 1/16" diamond plate turned backwards. After polishing it really shines and looks pretty cool but doesn't really match the rest of the instrument panel. I still need to cutout for the dummy accessory switch and the blank engine shutoff hole and smooth the edges. It is rock solid and holds the radio without flinching.

I'm thinking about painting the aluminum diamond plate black but was wondering if anyone knows if the original sticker labels are available. My other option would be to find an original bezel piece. What are the chances of that? Anyway, I'm enjoying the new boat but wondered if you guys have had any luck with replacing these fragile pieces and opinions on using other materials. Also opinions on painting the aluminum if I can't find an original.

Ahhhhh.... You have a Z202... That's a little different than just a 202...
The pieces that you're talking about were vacuum formed at the Mariah plant and are kind of rare. Not often do you see a Z202 being parted out....

I just saw another thread on this site about radio bezels for Z211 / Z212.... Not sure if it's the same as the Z202 but it looks pretty close. You might want to get the CNC file from them....
