Mariah Z198 Shabah fuel pump change
Hi all, i got my mariah at the mecanic, and he says I have to change the fuel pump but he says he has to take the engine out to do so because there is no space, the engine is the Mercruiser 350 Magnum MPI Gen + Bravo three.
The problem is that he doesnīt know how to take out the engine because he says there is no space because when they made the boat they first introduced the engine and afterwords the top of the boat and he canīt use the engine holes to bring it up. Any idea of how to get out the engine or how to change the fuel punp? Sorry about my english i am writing from spain Thanks everyone |
Re: Mariah Z198 Shabah fuel pump change
Sounds like you need a new mechanic. The fuel pump is located way down low on the side of the engine. It is very difficult to access but a good mechanic can usually find a way to get the job done. Same for the engine removal, he may have to remove the front drive accessories and then the rear seat and sun pad to lift the motor a little, drag it forward and then out of the boat. All things are possible.

Think your mechanic needs to purchase a Seloc manual on the 350 Mercruiser.... That way, he can turn to the section titled 'Fuel Pump Removal'....

Re: Mariah Z198 Shabah fuel pump change
Hi again, thanks for the quick responses, this is my first time with this mechanic and i am not sure if he is the right one.
Question, will I be able to remove the fuel pump with out removing the engine from my Mariah? Since the boat is 20 years old and I just bought it is it worth to remove the engine and check any other parts? I have no experience with boats but I have some experience in do it yourself with motorcycles Where can I get the part? Is there any good web to get mercury parts? I have other question-problems i would like to ask but i want to get the boat back in water before starting with electrical issues. Thanks again everyone |
