Tach going crazy
2 Attachment(s)
Sometimes it reads 8000 rpm sometimes 200. Any help where to look first or is the gauge just junk?

Re: Tach going crazy
Search the site for more info, but the tachs do this sometimes. There is a selection switch on the back for 4, 6 , or v8. Try moving through the options and back to your to reset.

Thanks for the pics, she looks great! Forgot to add the gauges have a lifetime warranty, but you have to pay various fees.

Re: Tach going crazy
Thanks John I will try that after work. Boat has 173 hour on it. Was stored indoors and not used much so just a few little issues. Any idea on where to start to look to get the led air and river water temp gauge working? I have yet to locate the fuse panel all I have found was a push button breaker panel.

Re: Tach going crazy
With the ignition off, use a small screwdriver to spin the selector switch on the back of the tachometer. Apply some light pressure with the screwdriver and spin it multiple times to remove the corrosion that builds up between the switch element and the traces on the printed circuit board. It is really a poor design (i.e. inexpensive) that has been used by Faria for decades. I am already on my third tachometer and it is starting to do the same...again. Salt air is tough on electronics.

Re: Tach going crazy
It's not letting me search the fourm from my phone at work. Do either of you know the bulb number for the anchor light. I would like to n order one before end of business day.

Re: Tach going crazy
I'm not sure which anchor light you have. I searched some old posts and read that the original incandescent lamp was a #90 bulb...but don't hold me to it.
