    Mright
Heed this warning !! There is a step by step guide on taking the throttle/gear shifter off so you can get to the trim switch. If you don't follow the steps, you will break the push button that disengages the gear shifter.
Follow them and do not force or pry on anything

I doubt your switch is the problem. I'd bet 50 cents that your trim sensor on the out drive is out. On the inside of the bilge, on the transom, there is a set of wires, smaller than a lamp cord, that have barrel connectors on it. It passes thru the transom and these are what tell the trim pump to shut off when you hit full up or full down. Disconnect the wires at the barrel connectors and jumper them together. The wires that go to the pump itself. Check your trim now.

Thanks I will try that I have had it working for a brief moment
We can still use the boat by using the micro button on the bottom of the shifter to raid the out drive
Just want it to work correctly

If the TRAILER button will still raise it, I'm fairly certain your troubles are the trim sensor. After you by pass it, you are perfectly fine not having the limiter. Just watch your TRIM GAUGE (if it still works) and don't hold it in the down position. Volvo`Penta doesn't even use one. Relys on the owner to know it's down or as high it's gonna get.
