Re: engine cuts out
Hello
The pick up is a long plastic tube. It did not appear to have any cracks or holes... could it be something on the bottom of the tank that gets sucked to the tube, then when the motor stops, it floats away? |
Re: engine cuts out
Without a doubt, that's a possibility BUT, playing devils advocate, fuel level would not affect (effect?) that. Could fuel level just be a coincidence? Didn't you say that swerving would make it less severe ?
Dude, I wish u lived in central Arkansas. I'd come over and help you. Do you have an engine oil, through the dip stick style pump ? I'd try to connect to the pick up unit with it still attached to the tank. Start pumping/ducking and see what comes out or better yet, if it stops sucking, which wouldn't suck. Sorry |
Re: engine cuts out
Mine was stalling at 3000 rpm. Turned out to be a loose wire on the fuel pump circuit that stalls the engine if the oil pressure drops.

hello
where was this wire located? Thanks |
Re: engine cuts out
Don't know. My boat mechanic worked on it. I'm skittish about working on gasoline related items.
