Losing All Electrical Power to Dash

I have a 93 MX20. It was recently in the shop because I had absolutely no power to the dash switches, gauges, or ignition. They found a lose cannon plug to be the culprit. Was just going through the boat this morning, all accessories, gauges and ignition worked fine until I hit the dock light switch. It worked the first time through, the second time I lost all power to the dash. After 1-2 minutes the power seemed to come back slowly, really dim lights on accessory switches. After 1-2 minutes longer, everything was back to seemingly full power and ignition worked again. Before taking it to the shop, I believe it was the dock light switch that was killing the power. Does anyone know what might be going on here? I am afraid to touch that switch!

Sounds like you have a bit of electrical shorting going on. Check the wiring at the dock light switch, the fuse panel and at the lights just to ensure a bare wire isn't causing the problem.
