Damn Beeps

When out cruisin in my Mariah Z210, I will get a beep. Just random. I check all fluid levels and they are fine. Any thoughts or comments as to what it might be? Thanks in advance!!!

This question gets asked quite often. The alarm monitors 3 things. Oil Pressure, Engine Temperature, and Gear Oil Level. Check your drive oil reservoir before you go (it's the clear plastic container located on the top of your engine block. Make sure it's got enough fluid in there. You might also want to check the drive lube oil sensor. Then keep your eye on the oil pressure and temp gauges. Watch for any abnormally high readings (oil should be around 40 and temp should be around 180 i believe). If the engine temp is too high then you likely have a blockage in your cooling system. When was the last time you had the water impeller changed?

There are a number of threads discussing the Alarm system on this site. You can do a site search for "Alarm" or have a read thru this thread with similar issues.

Sounds like its a good time to invest in a Mercruiser manual. They are available here on our site to our contributing members. Here is a link on how to make that happen.

Thanks. I read some other threads and it might just be a faulty sensor or alarm. Dumb as it might be, I feel like disconnecting the alarm as it is driving me crazy. Had friends on the boat this past weekend and they were going nuts. I have been watching the gauges and all is normal. Boat is othewise normal!

Try disconnecting the sensor & see if that eliminates the beep. If so, you will know where the problem is. I did note in that thread i provided a link to that our Admin had that problem, replaced the sensor & all was well again.
