Well my decision has been made, I will be replacing with a long block. Scheduled for next week to get it installed. In the mean time I ordered and received a new Bimini from Northstar Products out of Ohio. They specialize in biminis for pontoons but will also custom build for any other boat. I ordered mine with stainless steel bows (4 bow) and SS side mount (ball & socket) hardware. I am very pleased with the fit and finish of their product. Can hardly wait for the motor install to be finished and we can take it back out on the water.

Finally got my boat back yesterday so took it out today. I was told by my mechanic to follow the Mercruiser break in guide, I know I need to do this to ensure I keep my warranty, but really . . . working up to normal operations over a period of 20 hours. This seems excessive but I will be a good boy and "try" to follow the instructions to the letter. The engine runs great, don't have my bill for the work yet that day will come soon enough :(

ps: no this is not the launch we launched at, my wife and daughter need a bathroom break so we "tried" to pull in at a launch site and found it to be to shallow to come along side the dock, launch side of the dock was no deeper. But when you got to go, you got to go :shakehead:
