Low Oil Preasure Switch
 

I could'nt fire up my boat today. I got to checking things and found that one of the contacts on the low oil preasure switch located at the oil filter housing had broke off. I've been looking all afternoon for the replacement(Mercruiser #76583) to no avail.:(
I realize I could just tie the two wires together , but would really like the satisfaction of having the switch working.
Everywhere I try they say NLA (No Longer Available).
Has anyone tried using a different switch? Or maybe know where I could score one at?

where did you get that part number? I went to mercruiserparts.com and did a part search for a 92 4.3LX and came up with 87-864252A01 for 30 bucks. Dunno if this is exactly what you need or not, but worth a look :wink_thumbup:

Thanks a million , I got the part # from the casing.
Tried Doug Russell who I have had good luck with , I could have sworn I was at mercruiser.com parts too. Maybe I didn't get the number in right.

South Cackalacky! It's supposed to be 85 here tomorrow and Thursday. No problem once again. I just sit behind a computer at work anyway.... surfing Facebook and the MOC. Gave me something to look up!

Thanks! Im pretty proud of her.... She gets a lot of compliments! The guy didn't know what he had when he sold it, so I got it cheap! Diamond in the rough!
