Pulling engine
I am in the process of pulling the engine on my 1995 Talari 200. My guestion is: Do I have to remove the outdrive unit or can I leave it in place and be able to remove and replace the engine?

Re: Pulling engine
You have to remove the outdrive. You will also need an alignment tool after install.

Re: Pulling engine
Rajj be 100% correct on that it has to come off and you will need the alignment tool to reinstall when your done.

Re: Pulling engine
Okay, everything went great! The out-drive came out with no problems. Built an "A" frame after seeing the picture of Chris pulling his engine in another thread and with the manuals through Mariah owners club and good advice from members, the engine is out. I still cannot believe how easy and enjoyable it has been so far. Thank you.
I am having to replace the engine and the port manifold due to the extreme freeze we had here in Texas this last winter. And because I didn't think about putting some heat in the engine compartment during those cold days. My next step is to get the engine in my garage to work on it. I am wondering if a regular engine stand will work? Will I need to remove the housing at the rear of the engine or do I modify the engine stand somehow to connect them? |
