My boat has the Mercathode protection also. I should mention my outdrive has very little corrosion for its age, not even worried about it, all the zincs are new. I only mentioned the new zinc on the end of the propeller shaft because I never saw one like that before, and it's not part of the replacement kit. But I guess Mercruiser must have added this because the Bravo III does have a lot of complaints of corrosion, especially in salt water.

There is a hole on the B3 for the speedo pick up as well as the zinc anode cavity. There is no hole like on the Alpha which i belive was for the water pump cavity...which is not internal to the B3.

I think the new zinc was added in '00.
