Ignition Switch - Flame Arrestor Light

Hi Folks - My Z280 would not shut off when I turned the key so ended up having to shut it down by turning the battery switch off. I assume I just need to replace the ignition switch.

More importantly, the Flame Arrestor light stayed illuminated. My problem is that I can't for the life of me remember if that light (under the steering wheel) is supposed to remain on when the key is turned off or not. My assumption is that it should go off.

Could this be due to the bad ignition switch?

Thanks,

Roger

Re: Ignition Switch - Flame Arrestor Light

Correction - It isn't the Flame Arrestor light. It's the automatic fire extinguisher light for the extinguisher in the engine compartment.

Sorry about that :-)

The light remained on even though my battery selector switch was all the way off. This happened when my ignition switch would not shut down the engine.

Thanks,

Roger

I don't know if this is true or not, but I was told it is not good to turn the battery switch with the engine running. If it happens again I would try the kill switch first. Then go to the battery switch next if necessary.

Thanks John - All is well now that I found a disconnected wire under the dash that lead to the auto fire extinguisher. Strange how something that small can affect something much larger.
