Need fuel pump 4.3

1 Attachment(s)
1992 Mariah Diablo need a mechanical fuel pump. These are the numbers I found on the pump but have been unable to find anything off of Google. Will I be able to go autozone or advanced and pick one up?

You should never use an automotive fuel pump on a boat. Marine mechanical fuel pumps have a double diaphram and a clear tube that is plumbed to the carburator. If the first diaphram were to fail, the second diaphram prevents fuel from leaking like an automotive fuel pump. Instead the fuel is pumped through the clear tube up to the carb where it can be safely burned by the motor.

I believe the correct part number for your 1992 4.3L is Mercruiser 862077A1.

Hudson River Steve, thanks for the advice. Definitely not willing to sacrifice a few $$ for my family's safety. I'll take the provided part number and grab a new marine one.

Went to O'Reillys auto parts store, purchased a marine fuel pump the cross reference with the provided number. $103 I should have it Wednesday I'll make sure it has a double diaphragm and return line

I was about to say that I found that O'Reilly's Auto Parts carries marine engine parts.... Weird but convenient.... I bought an ignition coil from them.

Okay, have the new fuel pump, would anybody have a photo of how this thing is supposed to be installed? I moved the little arm inside and still can't get her to fit, looks like if I turn it upside down it bolts right on. PS... My grandpa always said take before and after photos, should have listened to him!!

You need to make sure that the pushrod in the block is pushed up against the lobe on the camshaft. Take a look at this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v6UGEpgOUqg

What I'm trying to figure out is if this diagram I've attached is the correct way to install the fuel pump or do I need to flip the fuel pump upside down where the bowl would be on the bottom

On every fuel pump I have ever seen the fuel bowl points down.
