I have a 2001 Z212 with 5.7 Mercruiser with Alpha One. Wanted to know if anyone could recommend a good kit and where to purchase?

Mercruiser, quicksilver and sierra are all brands I have personally seen and used. Can't say I've seen an issue with either. You should be able to find a kit on eBay or Amazon for really reasonable. Bunch of How To videos on YouTube as well. You'll need a gimbal bearing puller. It's a wise idea to check the bearing and coupler alignment.

If anyone is looking for a good gimbal bearing kit give Mike at Mikes Alphas a call. His kit came complete with heavy duty bearing, bellows, bellows adhesive, shift cable and hinge pin tool. Total cost with shipping $210.00.
