The winter storm last weekend in Vemont delivered a nice tree branch on the boat crushing the port side glass and frame. Anyone out there parting out their boat or know of some place which would have one?

Probably your only hope is our "For Sale" marketplace or maybe eBay/Craigslist. Glass is very difficult to find.

If you have deep pockets, places like Marine Glass Specialties can make up a new one.

I ended up getting a piece of 1/4" Lexian molded to fit from Portland Glass in New Hampshire. It is not tinited and can scratch, however the middle window section is usually open and covers the port side. For $225, I can live with that since Taylor Made quoted $3500-$4500 for a new custom replacement unit.

I did the same thing with mine only i used acrylic with UV protection included. Either will work just fine.

This information from 'Colorado Plastic Products': Each of the two have benefits and drawbacks. Acrylic is shinier and polycarb (Lexan) is stronger. Acrylic is less expensive but easier to crack. Polycarb is more impact resistant but easier to scratch. They are both stronger and lighter than un-tempered glass; acrylic is 4x to 8x stronger than glass, while polycarb is about 200x stronger. Acrylic cuts/molds slightly easier than Polycarb.
