SOS Function

Can anyone expain the SOS Function to me.. how to turn it on or off when i want... I was out on the lake the other night and the cops chased me down becouse it was flashing... helicoper flew by any everything... thank god I hadnt drank to much.. LOL... I didnt realize it was on and I was hoping someone could explain it to me...
