Default Parts for 2001 Mariah 182 Shabah

We have a customer looking to replace a broken glove box door and just beneath it, a broken ice box door both located on the port side of the boat at the walk-thru area. We have contacted Mariah but they are unable to help us as this was before Mariah went out of business and then sold to current owners.

Can anyone suggest who I can contact to purchase these parts (both are cracked). Much appreicated!

Colleen

    Colleen:

Unfortunately these parts were made in-house at the old Mariah factory. They were made out of Vacuum-Formed ABS Plastic and then a woodgrain finish was added to them. The machinery, as well as the molds were sold at the auction of the plant equipment in November of 2001. Sea Fox Mariah does not offer support or service to any of the older boats (pre-2002).

So the only option is repair. Contact local plastic fabricators to see if they can repair it by plastic welding it back together. At least the part is removable, and not very complex.

When I first bought my Z250, the dash was cracked. It got worse, and I eventually had to have the whole thing repaired and refinished. I spoke with 2 companies, one in detroit who was willing to repair the plastic, and another in Texas who was willing to repair and refinish it with a woodgrain finish. It ended up costing quite a bit. I did a writeup about it. You can find it here.

If you need help locating a plastic fabricator, let me know and I'll see if I can help you out.

The only other thing i can think of is Ebay. Some Mariah specific parts pop up there every once in a while. Other than that, as Chris says, repair is your only real option.
