Lawrence 3500 Head Unit

Like a bunch of others out there, my head unit is bad. Does anyone have a working one for sale or is there a replacement for the 3500 so I can plug and play and not change transducer?
Sorry typo Lowrance 3500

Re: Lawrence 3500 Head Unit

You probably saw my posting... I changed the entire thing over to a Faria and it works great! The old hockey puck came out pretty easy with a hammer and small crow bar. The new one is a little different.... It sits on a tube with a flange. If my transducer ever goes bad again, I unscrew 4 small screws and take the transducer off..... Best money I spent on my Mariah so far

What was the model and number on the one you replaced it with? Sorry might have missed it in your other post. Did if require much modification to the hull?

Re: Lawrence 3500 Head Unit

I had to widen the cut on the interior hull in order to get the tube's flange down to the inside of the exterior hull. I used 4200 to glue down the flange and seal it. Then I filled the tube a bit with red antifreeze as a liquid medium for the transducer. Finally, I bondo'd the tube to the interior hull (the factory left the space between the inner and outer hull open) to seal it up. The tube has a deadrise angle adjustment on it.
Faria only makes one "in-hull" transducer model, and it's not even a Faria, it's an Airmar.
