Default Sale that makes you go hmmmmm....

well I was suffering from a slight case of insomnia and decided to slum around Flea bay for a while and came across this

http://cgi.ebay.ca/2005-Mariah-SC21-...QQcmdZViewItem

the reserve hasn't been met yet but the bidding is still low... which causes me to think the age old question.... whats wrong with it.. Still a very nice Mariah tho

    Hi Diablo180,

Except being a little under powered and some vinyl cracking on the sunpad, I'd guess that there's nothing else really wrong with it. I think it's like he stated, it's a "leftover" and he's trying to move old stock...

Some sellers start with a low opening bid to get people looking and bidding. Seen it many time before, sometime it works and sometimes it don't. Wonder what the reserve is.....

    Just my 0.02 worth,
    WetWilly

Yep, that 4.3 will move it but it would be nicer with a 5.0 or 5.7 in it. I didn't notice any close up pics of the engine area or outdrive....maybe just an oversight.

thats what I was thinking too when I woke up this morning.. (sorry late nights make me a little brain dead)

it also makes me wonder what the reserve is and Im also tempted to bid to see if they would actually sell it to me if I didnt meet the reserve..

    Hi Diablo180,

Well the bid is at $10,100 right now. I'm guessing the reserve is around $25,000 as NADA lists a used one at average retail at around $22,000.

As for throwing in a bid, what do you have to lose?? I'd say"Go for it!", cause you never know but he may go for it, If that doesn't work, I would probably try contacting him after the auction if it doesn't sell. Just don't discuss it through eBay's mail as they monitor it. I had to smack them once cause they intercepted one of my emails and misinterpreted it and got nasty with me. Now they know better!

LOL you know Willy... if I actually won the auction and showed up in a Mariah with a bigger engine then Rye's I think I would have alot of time to think about it while sitting in the doghouse.. either that or he would take my keys and switch them with his
